Chronic Wasting Disease In White-tailed Deer
Amy Dechen

Amy Dechen, a researcher at SUNY/ESF and an expert on chronic wasting disease among white-tailed deer will give a presentation at the Fabius-Pompey High School Auditorium on November 5th, starting at 7:30PM.

Ms. Dechen is in the Environmental and Forest Biology department at SUNY/ESF. Her interests are in mammalian behavior, and her research has focused on the role of white-tailed deer movement behavior in the spread of chronic wasting disease in New York State. Ms. Dechen has been working on a computer model that will be able to identify areas of high risk for CWD spread, as well as likely direction and magnitude of spread from a point of first occurrence. Hunters and nature enthusiasts may find the presentation to be of particular interest.
